Career Biography Page:

Trained at the Sylvia Young Theatre School in North London, Julie
Buckfield’s career started as a child actress appearing in such
productions as The Roses of Eyam and Les Miserables playing
Young Eponine. However it was in the role of Natalie Stevens in
Grange Hill for which Julie is best remembered for during this
period of her career. In addition Julie also performed in the a
Chuckle Brothers Christmas Special and a tour in Old Time Musical
Hall.

As an adult actress Julie has made numerous guest appearances on
TV shows including leading roles The Bill (twice) London’s Burning,
Pie in the Sky, Casualty,Holby City and Hustle. Also Julie has made
appearances in Scene, and Expert Witness, as well as herself on
A number of chat shows. Additionally Julie showed her prowess at
co-presenting a Disney Club Summer Special from Jersey.

However it her starring role of Julie Matthews in Hollyoaks that Julie is
best known for, while globally she has can be seen in many countries
across the world in Extr@, playing the leading role of Annie Taylor.

Julie’s stage career has seen her become one of the UKs leading
actresses playing the Principal Boy role in Pantomime, having won much acclaim for her performances of J M Barrie’s insouciant hero Peter Pan in Mansfield, Darlington, Newcastle, Belfast, Stoke and Bromley. Most recently Julie has appearred as the Cambridge Arts Theatres resident panto star playing the title roles in Jack and the Beanstalk (twice) Dick Whittington (twice), Aladdin (twice) and Cinderella. Added to which Julie also created the role of Cherry Kola in Rip van Winkle and the Fizziness Business which premiered at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield

Amongst her other stage credits Julie has also built up an impressive CV performing on stage in plays from Shakespeare, through to comedy and thrillers, as well as appearing in the musical A Slice of Saturday Night. Among the tours Julie has performed in are the Number One tours of Passport to Pimlico, Bad Blood and Caught in the Net, as well as The Ghost Train, Much Ado About Nothing and more currently her third tour of The Naked Truth, as well Don’t Rock the Boat and The Tart and the Vicars Wife.

Other work Julie has been involved in inclued making a number voiceovers for such companies as DFS, W H Smith, Bisto, Synergy 3-in-1 facial wipes, Centrum Multivitamins, Bon Jovi and Mykindofplace.com, and also recording the role of Hedyla for a Doctor Who audio play entitled Return to the Web Planet.
